Spring Musical
The audition process for musicals spans over a few days. There is a dance audition, singing audition and Call Backs.
Singing audition: Everyone will be taught the same section of a song and then you will perform it by yourself for Ms. Johnson and Mrs. Killpack. Dance audition: You are taught a small portion of a dance routine that you will do in a small group. |
How-To-Call Backs Guide for Students
There are usually 1-2 days of Call Backs for each show in additional to the initial audition. Call Backs are an additional audition day. Ms. Johnson will call back a few students that she will need to see more of after the initial audition (reading for straight play/ dance and singing for musical). If you are not called back, this does not mean that you aren't cast. It just means that Ms. Johnson saw everything she needed from you at your first audition for the show. :D
The list for those needed for EACH of these days will be posted on the board outside of the drama room in the morning. So please check the board the morning of EACH Call Back Day.
If you are on the list you will be required to come back that day to continue auditioning. For Call Backs, you will be asked to read parts of the script with a few other students auditioning for both a straight play and a musical. You will also be asked to sing a song(s) from the show that you will be taught that day if it's a musical.
